Welcome to the Chess Party!
The Knight School Chess Team is your school's official chess team and chess party. The Knight School's approach has had amazing success -- winning multiple state championships -- because our unique and unprecedented educational philosophy, "the chess party," is the perfect way to transform a complete beginner into a devastating chess machine.
In this kid-centered classroom environment, we teach our kids every cool trick, strategy, and tactic in chessdom and our kids soon learn to love and master chess, their classroom, sports, and their home lives as well!
Upon enrollment, new students receive a chess set, chess bag, and all the colorful TactixBands they can earn!
Class meets in your child's school or online weekly for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
We will NOT meet for chess on days when school dismisses early or is not in session. Any additional days we wil not meet will be included in your welcome letter, which you will receive via email prior to your child's first day of chess.
Please read the monthly newsletter mailed to all enrolled families monthly, called The Knightly News, to stay informed of all the cool new things we are rolling out as well as important dates about tournaments, camps, etc.

This class runs weekly on Thursdays for Ironton students in grades K-5. Students are dismissed immediately after school to the library for chess and then dismissed to parent pick-up or extended care at the conclusion of chess.
We will NOT meet for chess on days when school dismisses early or is not in session. Any additional days we wil not meet will be included in your welcome letter, which you will receive via email prior to your child's first day of chess.

Our December and May Lehigh Valley Wide TournaParties will both be held on Saturdays, dates TBA.
The Knight School Lehigh Valley is closed on the following dates so we will not meet: October 29, January 7, March 11.
If school is in session on March 25th (built in snow day for PSD), we will have chess. If there is no school that day, we will make up that day on May 13th as an add-on day.
Parents must let their child's teacher know their child's end-of-day dismissal to chess plan and duration.
Participants must be entering grades kindergarten to 5.
Registration starts on 07/26/2026 and ends on 05/06/2027.
Participants may register at any time during this period.
